Keeping an eye on the horizon line while fulfilling our daily tasks can be a real challenge. Do you remember the resolutions you made at the beginning of the year? Or maybe you have some new intentions, projects or wishes you want to realize in the upcoming months?
To focus on what we want can be a tricky thing: it can be very easy to forget about it, being in a constant hurry and not finding the time…
My suggestion is to take some minutes every morning to focus on what you want.
Before you rush into your day, take a break while holding your cup of tea or coffee to focus on your project or wish. Recall to yourself what it is about. Read the notes or comments you may have written a while ago.
Focus on something in which achievement depends on you… It can be to free some time to do some exercises, or have more time with your children, spouse or friends. To lose some weight or to train for a half marathon.
The aim of this focus should help you with making decisions which support your wish or project and help you collect the energy you need to achieve what you want.
First of all, you need to decide whether you want to do it. Make sure that you have some minutes, daily, without being interrupted. Then take several deep breaths in your chest in order to make space in the area of the heart and nourish what you want. Keep breathing during the time you think about what you want and what you need to do to achieve it. You will feel an energy arising within your body. You may need to write down the next steps you need to do.
This exercise quickly allows the body and mind to be unified for a brief moment and gives us a rapid kick to have a great start of the day such as a captain ready to cross the ocean.
Difficulties you may encounter can be:
– to breathe in the chest / expand your chest
– your mind jumping to other subjects
– to stay focused on one subject
– experiencing some uncomfortable feelings during focusing.
