Reconnecting with the body, which is ultimately my aim in working with clients, allows to tap into a great deal of information that we find locked away within ourselves. My way to do so is to engage the whole body in breathing, movement and bodyattention.
We can also broaden the experience by including the connection with Nature.
This is what will happen on the 28 of June during the next Day to Breathe: by practicing in a more natural environment, we will open up other levels of perception.
One level of perception will focus on our inner selves: our physical, emotional and mental state and how we can influence and modify them through engaging the body.
Another level of perception will be stimulated by being outdoors, in the mountains, with little man-made inputs, bathing in a natural surrounding.
This second level in itself has a strong impact, particularly on the mind: it is now being proven that being in Nature without devices has already an anti-stress effect, releasing tensions and relaxing.
We will actively enhance this by practicing breathing exercises, some coordinated with movements, and by learning about our personal reactions that limit our breath, our bodies and our ability to take actions.
In general, we will seek to feel more alive and to be more in the flow of life. And to enjoy to be a body. A body allowing us to notice that we are constantly experiencing new situations, which teach us about ourselves. This is an invitation to offer to our body more gratitude and respect, regardless of our personal aesthetic, history and conditions.
Everything about us – even our ability to think – manifests thanks to the fact that we are a body.
