After my last article, many people asked me: “what did you mean when you wrote that the rain forest is not only the lung of the planet but also one of its hearts?”. I meant that the experience of stepping out of my comfort zone, of admiring the beauty and the strength of the Nature, of being inspired by another culture had an intense impact on my ability to feel connected with what is around me.
It allowed me to experience more Love. Love of being alive and Love for life.
As some of you already know, after Christmas I traveled to Ecuador.
During the first week, my partner and I discovered the volcano’s road, we hiked up the Chimborazo and the Cotopaxi and visited some cities.
Then, we joined a group and we flied inside the rain forest where we spent almost 2 weeks immersed in the green!
Our aim was to get more in contact with the lung of our planet, its inhabitants and its energy so to better perceive the importance of its protection.
I made it! I kept my objective on going swimming 4 times a week for one month!
Thanks to all of you for your support and your sharing! That gave me a lot of motivation and energy 🙂
As you remember, we are discussing the topic about maintaining our intentions so we can realize a change in our perception about ourselves.
During this process we can learn a lot about what our difficulties are: too much alone? Lack of discipline? Lack of flexibility?
In the previous article we focused on expanding and practicing our respiration and also to pay attention and reducing some of our “daily life produced tension”.
Now I would like to look a bit closer to the question: why do we tend to reduce our breathing and tense up?
The answer is quite simple: through reducing the breath, suppressing and limiting, we try to gain control.
Let us start the new year with a more practical look on how we can build up a breathing practice.
First, why is a conscious breathing practice useful?
• we deal with stress situations in a calmer way;
• we have more energy through increased blood circulation;
• we create an inner massage that reduces daily life tensions.
With several easy exercises we can modify our physical and mental state.
We have normally a lot of opinions about ourselves and about life in general. Those opinions are always coming from past experiences.
Even if we are not aware about them, they become beliefs that create our present, because they sit in our bodies.
